a picture, black and white and shades of grey
just focus on eyes i can remember
so perfectly carefree and desperately random, as they pierce right through me
and they’ve seen a lifetime bleeding through the back and grey is a blue like no other
and they’ve cried a lifetime. the furrows in your brow are so conditioned
the only thing that separates is miles from here
and I’m about 20 cigarettes away from carolina
i can’t get away from you the gaze of your eyes it holds me back
a contradiction. a predilection. a coin that’s double-sided, heads
a smile. a flat effect gracefully cascading
my conviction burns my eyes til i can’t see
i think of you, then i laugh. do you think of me at all.
in this black an white photograph, that captured me.
